We want to be the purveyor of authentic and approchable regional Chinese cuisine in the Philippines that appeals to both Chinese and Filipinos alike.
We aim to bring the authentic food of northern China, tempered with the taste of the local customers, by bringing in the chefs from China and using the freshest ingredients, and expanding the SM malls for the best possible reach.
A brainchild of ayoungcouple, the origin of the restaurant coincided with the first pregnancy of the wife. As with any pregnant woman, the wife became extremely particular with the food that she was eating, and none of the local Chinese restaurants in Manila seemed to be up to her standards.
The husband, eager to please his wife who was carrying their first child, decided to bring in a Chinese chef from wife's home region, to personally cook for for his wife. The food that the chef made was excellent, most especially the dumplings, and this gave the enterprising couple an idea: why not open a restaurant that serves food that Chinese people miss, and at the same time, Filipinos would learn to appreciate and grow to love. Thus, Yummy Dumplings was born.
A month after giving birth, the couple, opened the first branch of Yummy Dumplings in Pasay. A lot of the Chinese people who were working in Manila flocked to the restaurant and were comforted by the familiar tastes of their home country.
Fuelled only by word of mouth, the restaurant gained so much momentum that they were able to open seven more restaurants over the next three years. With the expansion, Yummy Dumplings maintained the quality of the food across all branches, which assured then the loyalty of old and new customers.
Now in 2023, Yummy Dumplings is venturing into a more widespread audience, targeting both Chinese and Filipinos alike.
The timing is perfect now, as consumers are seeking food that is authentic, original and healthy.
By adhering to our standards in quality, and incorporating traditional methods of cooking with the modern concept of the healthy diet, we aim to change the way Filipinos perceive Chinese food, and give comfort through our food.
